Today's spontaneous debate is all about TikTok and the infamous "ban" that seems to be coming our way and my "European perspective" on that since for now, this is just coming to the U.S. American users…
People are upset, debating if the TikTok ban is actually happening or when. But this is a really good time to shift the silly debate to…
(a) what a bad idea it is to allow a bunch of boomers to randomly "forbid apps" cause they don't like the origin country – as in: It should be your right to install whatever software on your phone, as long as it is not breaking laws. But if you're stupid enough to give some third party your crusty cucumber pictures, that should be your right.
(b) privacy and security in general, because for some reason a lot of people still do as the people in (a) might do, and even celebrate themselves for their stupidity. Let's change that.
