Learn how to create an automatic transition from state 1 to 2 in Proto.io in this short tutorial video.
If you are wanting to create a prototype of an app with a range of animation, (like you are seeing right now) you’ll probably decide to use states.
To gain a clear understanding of what a state is and how to create one, check out our previous video on “How to Create a State” .
Now, one of the issues with creating transitions between states on a screen is that a typical transition from State 1 to 2 will not automatically work.
For example, if we were to select state 1, create an interaction that, upon the ending of state 1, state 2 would appear, it won’t work. State 1 will remain on the screen indefinitely.
To get around this, a screen transition needs to be created. To do this, hover over screen, and select the appropriate screen with your various states ( in this case, our Start screen). Then, click interactions.
From here, select “Add Interaction”. Under trigger, select “Screen show”, under action, select “change screen state”, and under state, select “ next state”. Add a delay if necessary. For this example, we have chosen 1000 milliseconds. Save the interaction, save the project, and select preview.
Now, as you can see, the first state automatically transitions to the second state after 1000 milliseconds. From there, the second state transitions to the third, and so on. And that’s it!
