How to Create Automatic Sequences on Loading | Proto.io Prototyping Tool
Learn how to how to create an automatic sequence that plays when an app loads in Proto.io.
Ok. Say you want to create a sequence that automatically plays when your app loads - something like this.
To do this, first create your states. For this example, each state is a sequence in the animation: State 1 leads to state 2, to state 3, and so on until the animation is complete.
To create a state, click on the “+” icon beside the “default state” icon. For this example, I have various states that make up a simple animation.
Next, you’ll want to create timed interactions between the various states that make up the animation sequence. For example, after X milliseconds, you’ll want state 3 to move to state 4, and so forth, until the animation is complete. To do this, click on the state and select “interaction”.
Then, add new. From here select state enter for the trigger, change screen state for action, next state for state, and a delay time, for example, “no delay”.
This works great for all states except between state 1 and state 2. If you create a timed interaction between state 1 and 2, your app will remain on the first state and not progress. It just doesn’t work. Here’s the workaround:
To automatically advance from state 1 to state 2, you need to use a screen interaction.
To do this, click on screens. Then, select your opening screen - for example, Start screen. Once selected, click on “interactions”. From here, click on the “edit” icon to open the editing pop-up box.
Under the trigger dropdown, select “screen show”. Under action, select” change screen state”, under screen, select “ your current screen”., under state, select” next state”, and then choose the delay time, for example, 1000 ms.
