He tried to scam me, Instant Regret. Xbox has its fair share of scammers. Whether it involves money or not, there is always still some type of scamming/fraud happening on the Xbox network. In this case, a scammer on Xbox tried to scam me but what he got instead was a scare, and a second confrontation. And I’m glad to say that I did not see him make another attempt at scamming someone else on Xbox.
Like in my previous videos, I was in the Xbox Looking for Groups shopping for scammers. I never fall short on finding scammers on Xbox because they always make their way into the LFG to post some bait, praying someone falls for it. A popular method is the sale of modded GTA Xbox accounts. The scammer claims to sell them, sends you pictures of the account, takes your money, and disappears, blocking you after. What I usually do is them some money, proving their scammers but I did something different in this video.
I received a DM about scaring the scammer instead of sending them money. I found someone who was claiming to sell a modded GTA account. I got interested in their Xbox LFG post, and posed a potential buyer. Instead of being quick to send money to the scammer, I would claim that I’m buying the modded GTA account for a business. I claimed as a safety precaution, I would get the scammer’s IP Address in the event of the scam. I did not directly threaten the scammer. I simply claimed I got his IP address to make him think twice before scamming me. Needless to say, he ran away from the Xbox party chat and blocked me.
While it’s possible this could’ve been a legitimate seller, there were obvious red flags that proved he tried to scam me. I mentioned that I was willing to buy more than one account, giving the scammer the impression that he will make more money. I maintained communication and told him the IP address is only used in the event of any scamming that would occur. He claimed to be selling a $5 modded GTA account which was a red flag on its own. A modded GTA account is not typically this cheap. He refused to do business AFTER the fact and blocked me, almost as if he believed me. I confronted the scammer on a different account, and of course, the scammer played dumb, left the party, and blocked me again.
