Xbox Enforcement Leader HACKED on Xbox by a 13 year old kid. This isn’t anything new but since I talked about Major Nelson getting hacked on Xbox, I figured this story ties in with that.

The three goofballs that hacked Major Nelson in 2010 weren’t on good terms with Predatorz Sik, who was the one to hack the Xbox Enforcement Leader, Stephen Toulouse (Stepto). Predatorz hacked the Xbox Enforcement Leader through social engineering. And the story spread around quickly. So quickly that Microsoft heard about it and was not happy.

I read that this happened over the course of around three months. A hacker spent three months, trying to hack the most powerful person of Xbox Enforcement, Stepto. He called up the Xbox Enforcement Leader’s hosting company, and managed to convince them into giving him Stepto’s information. He went on to hack Stepto’s personal blog website and from there, hacked his Xbox Account. This glory was short lived because Xbox Enforcement got the account back and Microsoft got involved.
In the Xbox Hacker’s original video, he “shouted out” the people who helped him. To Microsoft, that was basically ratting his friends out. The video is a reupload since Microsoft had the original video taken down. Microsoft takes Xbox security seriously. Much seriously if it involves an important person in Microsoft. The Xbox Hacker claimed this was because Xbox Enforcement console banned him over 35 times. The Xbox Hacker also said this was to show that no one on Xbox is safe from getting hacked. The Xbox Hacker was enjoying the attention he was getting. Media outlets talked about him and the hacked Xbox Account. But the next day, the Xbox Enforcement Leader got his account back and Microsoft became involved.
Hacking the Xbox Enforcement Leader was not an ordinary attempt at getting someone’s Xbox Account. This was serious to them. Stepto had access to Xbox Developer Content and Xbox Enforcement Content which is classified information to the public. In 2011, Microsoft sued one of their former employees for leaking Xbox Developer Content for $72,500. So it is clear that Microsoft does not take kindly to these situations. The Xbox Hacker got so much publicity from this, that he got doxed. His whole family got doxed because of this. He had it coming since the Xbox Hacker was sexually harassing the Xbox Enforcement Leader and his wife with phone calls.
The Xbox Hacker turned out to be a random kid that got lucky through social engineering. He was not the hacking mastermind as he claimed to be. He was racist and had it coming from things he did when hacking Xbox Enforcement. Currently, no information exists of what Microsoft did. The Xbox Hacker isn’t active anymore and it’s unlikely he got jail time since he was 13 years old. But it’s very possible he was fined for hacking a high profile on Xbox and breaking laws against the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986. He posted videos of other Xbox Accounts he hacked, and had a video of his botnet which he used to DDoS attack other players. Microsoft had that video taken down as well. I don’t think the Xbox Hacker got off easy. If he did, he was very lucky and this was a lesson to be learned. To not mess with a multi-billion dollar company’s Xbox Enforcement team. It was a serious crime.
