My subscriber SCAMMED me on Xbox! One of my subscribers who watched my videos was caught trying to scam people. Fortunately, I was the first to call him out for it and I changed his perception. It was the classical modded GTA Xbox Account scam in the Xbox LFG. The Xbox LFG is full of players that pretend to be selling modded GTA Xbox accounts, and scam the victim by getting payed on CashApp, and never sending the scam victim the modded GTA account details. I eventually confronted him for it and he learned a big lesson.
I was in the Xbox Looking for Groups, looking for scammers. The scammer’s post read “Modded Account $5 HMU.” I got interested in his post and he sent me an invite to his Xbox Party Chat. He sent me the photo of the modded GTA Xbox Account and let’s just say he wasn’t the best businessman. The modded GTA account’s gamertag was censored which is unusual in a scam or sale like this. I was almost certain it was a scam but I didn’t have evidence of that. So the best course of action was to send him money through CashApp and find out if he was a scammer the hard way. We talked for a bit and I eventually sent him the money for the modded GTA account through CashApp. As expected, he didn’t tell me the login information, and he left the Xbox Party Chat. Ultimately, scamming me.
The scammer didn’t block me so I was able to message him. He deleted all the messages during the initial conversation to erase any history I had with him, to discard any evidence. I was recording the whole time, so I already had all the evidence. This was during the time I was in an Xbox Party Chat with the 12 year old scammer, which I already made a video about: • 12 Year Old Scammed Me on Xbox...
During all this, I was talking with my subscriber that scammed me (the scammer). He was pretending to not know me and denied any transactions we made. Simply put, he was pretending to be a random on Xbox that had no involvement with the modded GTA Xbox Account scam. So I sent him a voice message of the recording I already had of the whole transaction and the conversation I had with him. So he eventually allowed me to invite him to an Xbox Party Chat so he can explain himself and possibly REFUND me through CashApp.
My subscriber joined the Xbox Party Chat and immediately apologized for scamming me. He eventually refunded me the money he scammed me out of, said he felt very bad, and said he just felt guilt. This just shows that this was perhaps his first time scamming someone and felt the negative affects of scamming another player. He told me I sound like a YouTuber he used to watch, which was me. I confirmed I was that YouTuber, so he apologized again and said I inspired him to play on Xbox. Basically, I inspired someone to buy an Xbox, but use it to scam other people. As a favor, I censored his gamertag per his request. I was also thinking of letting him keep the $5 for his honesty and remorse. But that was basically scam money.
As mentioned earlier, I was talking with the 12 year old scammer during all this. I was hoping the 12 year old scammer WASN’T a scammer. That way if I bought the modded GTA Xbox Account, I would’ve given it away to my subscriber. But we all know how history played out. And the 12 year old scammer was actually a scammer and scammed me, which I’m sure he regretted later anyway. It honestly is such a heartbreak when I see someone who watches my videos to scam, cheat, or just ruin Xbox in any way. We’re trying to make a difference on the Xbox Network. Make the old games fun and playable again and prevent any scamming from taking place. But like I said before, some people are just heartless and selfish.
