Final Moments of the Xbox 360 Marketplace. At 1:05 PM, July 29th 2024, the games and other items were no longer available. A few minutes later, a new dashboard update came out. In this video, I spend my last hours on the Xbox 360 Marketplace before it was officially shutdown. After 19 years, Microsoft finally pulled the plugged and no longer supported the Xbox 360 Marketplace. A place that made my childhood unforgettable. Getting games such as CoD Ghosts, GTA V, State of Decay, Beatles Rockband DLCs, etc. I will forever miss the Xbox 360 Marketplace.
I stayed up on the night of July 28, waiting for the Xbox 360 Marketplace to be shutdown forever. I wanted to spend my last moments with it, as a way to thank Microsoft and the marketplace for providing me with fun memories growing up. On July 28th, former Beatle, Pete Best was doing a concert and a Meet & Greet in Ohio. You won’t know how badly I wanted to go all the way down to Ohio to meet him. But I only had 1 viable option, which was to stay with the Xbox 360 Marketplace. Either I went to Ohio to meet Pete Best and miss the Xbox 360 Marketplace shutdown. Or I stay with the Xbox 360 Marketplace for its shutdown, but miss meeting Pete Best. It’s clear which option I chose.
I’ve been on Xbox Live for 15 years (as of August 6th, 2024), and I have nothing but mostly positive things to say about my experience growing up with the Xbox 360. I have no regrets staying up, playing games, celebrating my time with my Xbox 360 friends, buying great Xbox 360 games, etc. My childhood was amazing mostly because of the Xbox 360. My mum would buy me things from the Xbox 360 Marketplace. Now that it was shutdown just a few minutes ago, I will cherish these memories forever. What an amazing console! Rest in peace, Xbox 360 Marketplace. You’ll always be remembered.
In this video, I also visit the recent players list on an old Xbox 360 Account. Last met over 10 years ago, remembering the amazing memories I had on Black Ops 2 in 2012, 2013, and 2014. I never knew I was living in the glory days until I realized it’s over. And here I am, in 2024, going on a nostalgia trip. Revisiting an Xbox 360 Account, revisiting the Xbox 360 Marketplace, and staying up for 24 hours, just to witness Microsoft shutting down the Xbox 360 Marketplace.
