3 REASONS TO TRY BAREFOOT TRAINING
If you have a keen eye, you may have noticed I’ve started incorporating barefoot training into my own home workouts. I was introduced to the idea of barefoot training by Delaney, the Muscle Activation Specialist I saw when I was dealing with some hip pain after my knee surgery.
Although I still use and love my “standard” gym shoes for shooting workouts, runs and gym classes, here are some of the benefits I’ve noticed since I’ve started training barefoot at home!
1️⃣Better body awareness (Delaney calls this ‘proprioception’, or the body’s ability to to sense its position in space)
2️⃣Increased foot and ankle strength
3️⃣Overall improved balance and stability
Also just logistically as someone who trains in their basement on carpet...it’s nice not having to worry about keeping my shoes clean or having outdoor/indoor shoes
