Negroni Sbagliato: The Sparkling Negroni Variation
Sbagliato means broken or mistake in Italian but it’s actually the fix you need. This is the Negroni Sbagliato.
This drink is said to be invented by mistake. But, by using Prosecco instead of Gin in a classic Negroni, you actually get a more cheerful and playful version of the Negroni.
I'd say it's a happy accident!
Here’s how to make the perfect before-dinner cocktail: frilly, frothy, bubbly with a packed-in Negroni punch.
Negroni Sbagliato
Serves 1
1 1/2 oz Prosecco
3/4 oz Campari
3/4 oz Red Vermouth
Fill a highball glass with large ice cubes. Add Campari and vermouth. Stir well. Add the Prosecco and stir gently.
If you think negronis are bitter, hear this: Negronis aren’t bitter.
The bitterness of Campari is meant to stimulate appetite.
