00:09 - Model the bay window
I will add a box into the space between the wall and the windows.
Use the snapping tool to get the shape, and then make the height -350 mm
Use the clone tool to duplicate an instance of the box for the other side
Use the edit poly and then the chamfer modifier to make a curved edge on the bay window.
03:58 - Import i beam and position them accordingly
Download the I Beam from 3d warehouse. Download the sketchup model and export it as a 3ds file.
https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/mode...
If you don't ahve sketchup you can download the 3ds model from the gumroad page.
Import the 3ds file into 3ds max.
The I beam is about 7.2cm tall, so we want to scale it to make it about 225 mm tall. make the width of the I beam remain as 100mm
Use the edit mesh modifier to modify the ibeam to make it bigger.
Clone the I beam and position them in logical areas of the structure, to support the second floor and the ceiling etc.
07:56 - Modelling the Steps.
Draw a box of the size 250mm by 1000mm by 80mm.
Use a box with 16 segments to plan out where each step should be.
Clone the steps and move/snap them to place.
Use CTRL+V to clone the objects quickly.
12:52 - Putting in the Ibeams
Clone the I beam so that we can make the steps support.
Change the pivot of the ibeam so we can rotate about a different point - Using hierachy, affect pivot only.
Ensure the ibeams cover the steps.
We increase the height of the ibeam that is at an angle.
We use the line tool, and then extrude, so form a shape that we can use to cut off the ibeam that we dont need.
Use the Compound objects- boolean - pick operand b option to cut off the ibeam.
Use the edit mesh modifier to make the spets shallower
Clone the Ibeams and set them in the right place
Modify the outerwalls so they don't intersect with the ibeams
21:23 - Modelling the railings.
Create Boxes and place them on the I beams and second floor
Use Line tool to draw a line with the same angel as the Ibeams. Then use extrude to form a box shape.
Use edit mesh modifier to adjust the boxes
Use box and clynder shapes to create the rest of the railings.
