This time of year, we're outside spending lots of time hiking, running, biking (which is all fantastic BTW!) But, we need to make sure we're hitting all our areas of fitness so we're ready for all of life's adventures.

A few other awesome bonuses of lifting or moving something heavy at least once a week?

1️⃣ Plateau Busting: If you've hit a plateau in your hiking or running, Waking up that brain muscle connection with a big lift can increase your capacity for power, powerful steps, mean every step is a smaller percentage of our 1 rep max.

2️⃣ Resiliency: As a female, there's an extra benefit we can get from getting under heavy weight. By loading our skeleton with heavy weight, you are going to improve your bone density by as much as one percent per year and stave off bone loss that can happen with aging. The higher our bone density before menopause, the better!
