Step # 1 - Download and run Google Update Uninstaller
The Google Support website has instructions on how to uninstall the Google Software Updater using the terminal app. But if you use this method, you will have to uninstall the corresponding Google applications as well. Otherwise the Google Software Update will be reinstalled after a few hours. A really simple option is to run Google Update Uninstaller, a free application.
Visit "wireload.net/products/guu-google-update-uninstaller"
Scroll down and press the link "Version 1.0" below "Download". Then, install the App.
Step # 2 - Run Google Update Installer
Open the app. It will then automatically uninstall Google Update and prevent it from being re-installed. If you'd like to remove the block that Google Update Uninstaller puts in, just launch it again, and the block will be removed.
