Apple has added new tools for taking screenshots in macOS Mojave. Hitting CMD+SHIFT+3 will take a screen shot of your entire screen. Press CMD+SHIFT+4 and drag across your screen to take a screenshot of your selection or hit space to select an app window to take a screenshot of.
After you take a screenshot, the image screenshot will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen. Clicking on it will open it in the preview app where you can markup the image and select to save, remove or share it. Right clicking on the image, will open a menu of useful commands.
You can also click and drag it to anywhere including finder locations or applications such as Pages. Doing nothing will also save your image to your desktop.
There’s also a new screenshot toolbar. To open it, press CMD+SHIFT+5. Here you will have access to all the functions, laid down in a very coherent manner. You can also click on Options and select the default location to save the file to, or enable a countdown timer to take a screenshot. You can also enable the mouse pointer to be visible in the screenshot and whether you want to see the thumbnail in the bottom right corner or not.
