Instagram doesn’t allow users to post pictures from the website on the computer. Luckily, we have a workaround.
If you are using Safari. Go to Safari - Preferences - Advanced. Check the box at the very bottom that says, "Show Develop menu in menu bar."
Now open a private browsing window. Head to Develop - User Agent - Safari - iPhone. Go to Instagram.com, sign in and click the camera button at the bottom of the screen to upload a photo from your desktop. From now on the interface should be familiar.
If you are using Chrome, go to instagram.com. Now right-click the page and click Inspect. Locate and click on the Tablet icon. The page should switch to mobile view. Sign in and click the camera button at the bottom of the screen to upload a photo from your desktop.
