In this tutorial you are going to learn How to Backup Files to iCloud on Mac (OS Sierra).
Now you have the ability to automatically sync the Documents and Desktop folder on your Mac thru iCloud to other devices.
To enable this feature go to System Preferences - iCloud - Options (next to iCloud drive). Enable “Desktop & Documents Folders”:

Click the Apple logo then go to About This Mac - Storage - Manage. System information should open with default tab being Recommendation, which offers ways to optimize your storage. You can enable storing your data in Documents and Desktop folders on iCloud if local storage gets full. After enabling this feature, Desktop and Documents folders get removed from your Favorites in Finder sidebar and appear under a new category called iCloud that also contains your iCloud drive. They also appear as folders on the iCloud drive app on your mobile devices.
