Plants need water, but some can get too much.
We usually grow dahlias for the flowers, but the tubers aren't too different from sweet potatoes. They're even edible!
They're a drought-tolerant crop so it's okay to let them dry out a little bit. Constantly moist soil can lead to rotting like it can with other tubers and alliums.
