“Deuce” is Police slang for “DUI”.
Officers spotted a vehicle whose driver appeared to be impaired in a white Chevy. They attempted to pull the driver over, but he fled at high speed. The pursuit went eastbound on the I-8 from the western area of San Diego, and at one point, the driver got off the freeway and re-entered after hitting a curb.
The driver continued until the tire was shredded and stopped just west of the I-15 interchange. A “Hot Stop” was conducted, and the driver was taken into custody without further incident.
As it turns out, 4 hours before, officers arrested a female driving the same car for DUI. The car was legally parked, so the officers did not impound it, and the boyfriend came and recovered the vehicle, but he was also impaired.
