Method 1: Filling a Series of Numbers

Enter Initial Numbers:

Start by entering '1' in cell A1 and '2' in cell A2.
Select and Drag:

Select both cells and drag the fill handle (a small square at the bottom-right corner) down the column.
Excel recognizes the pattern and fills the cells with the series 1 through 10.
Method 2: Filling Dates

Enter Starting Date:

Type '1/3/2024' in cell B1.
Select and Drag:

Select the cell and drag the fill handle down.
Excel will automatically increment the dates.
Method 3: Filling Text

Enter Initial Text:

Type 'Monday' in cell C1.
Select and Drag:

Select the cell and drag the fill handle down.
Excel completes the series with Tuesday, Wednesday, and so on.
Method 4: Using Flash Fill for Complex Patterns

Split Full Names:

If you have a list of full names in column E and want to split them into first and last names in columns F and G, start typing the first name in column F for at least two entries.
Excel will detect the pattern and suggest the remaining entries in light gray.
Press 'Enter' to accept the suggestions.
Split Last Names:

Do the same for the last names.
Bonus Tip: Customizing Auto Fill Options

Enter Initial Values:

Type '100' in cell I1 and '200' in cell I2.
Select and Drag:

Drag the fill handle down.
Choose Auto Fill Options:

After dragging, click on the Auto Fill Options button that appears.
Choose to fill the series, copy cells, fill formatting only, fill without formatting, or use Flash Fill.
