First, let's understand why we need custom lists. If you type "Alice" in cell A1 and drag the fill handle down, you'll see the same name repeating. No pattern appears because this employee list is not a standard sequence like weekdays or months.
Step 1: Create a Custom List
To create a custom list, follow these steps:
Open Excel Options:
Click on 'File' and then 'Options' to open the Excel Options window.
Navigate to Custom Lists:
In the Excel Options window, go to the 'Advanced' section, scroll down to 'General', and click on 'Edit Custom Lists'.
Add a New List:
In the Custom Lists dialog box, select 'New List'.
