Brown-throated Sunbird Female Bathing Under a Hose
A visit to my local park revealed this female Brown-throated Sunbird bathing under a hose that had been set up by the park gardners to water the plants. Brown-throated Sunbird, Anthreptes malacensis, is a common park bird in Bangkok but watching this one using its intelligence to take advantage of an artificial shower was fun. Sunbirds and most other birds bathe regularly in order to keep their feathers in good condition.
