ABOUT THE SAGE ARCHETYPE
Driven by their core desire to seek and find the truth, The Sage is intuitive, patient, and wise. They have an unquenchable thirst for information–scouring any and all resources at their disposal to learn, interpret, analyze.
The Sage is stimulated by complex ideas, and the conclusions they draw are significant and impactful. The Sage is a scholar, a mentor, and a teacher. They enjoy sharing the wealth of their knowledge they’ve accrued with students who also seek the truth.
The Sage will leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of wisdom–but their detail-orientation can be to their detriment.
As they seek deeper meaning, The Sage may miss the forest for the trees–or become stuck in analysis paralysis.

Using Archetypes to create user personas is a fantastic way to create effective eLearning courses that really connect to your learners. By creating user personas, we can think more about what voice to use, which visuals to include, and how to really connect with our audience through our eLearning content.
Chances are that your learners embody some elements of each of the archetypes, but there are likely two or three that dominate for a particular learner group. Consider these archetypes as you're building your user personas to build deeper user empathy with your audience.
