Today’s Image Processing Demonstration focuses on using Lightroom Classic’s masking panel, and in particular, how you can add and subtract from these masks to create selections that would have a taken a lot of work in the past.
The photo we work on is a panoramic shot captured in the seldom visited Mossy Cave section of Bryce Canyon National Park. This is the only place in the park with running water (it actually has a small waterfall on the stream!) and is a wonderful place to take an easy hike through the beautiful sandstone formations that rise up and around you.
By using Lightroom’s masking capabilities, we adjust color and light to help guide the viewer to the primary subject, and tone down the distractions that have a tendency to pull you away.
