The Chicago Cubs and BayStars starting pitcher Shota Imanaga have reportedly agreed to a multi year contact pending a physical. The left handed pitcher was a strikeout machine in Japan with a 29.2K rate and a 2.80 ERA inn 2023 but allowed 17 homeruns among the most in the league. The Cubs beat out the Giants, Angels and Red Sox for the elite LH pitcher. Imanaga has to have a contract agreed on by Jan 11 or must return to his team in Japan. Now that the Cubs have a starting pitcher is signing Cody Bellinger the next priority? What are some other deals that could follow?
