Thanks to a dominant 14-2 effort over the Marlins, the Cubs have climbed back to .500 in the standings this season. While playoff chances for Chicago are still slim, the win on Saturday gets the Cubs to the elusive .500 plateau to build on.
Sieya Suzuki and Shota Imanaga were excellent, and they even made history. The Cubs are the first team in MLB history to have a Japanese-born hitter tally three extra-base hits and a Japanese-born pitcher earn the W in the same game.
Plus, Miguel Amaya and Pete Crow-Armstrong continue to rake - turning the Cubs lineup into a formidable one. Three hits from Amaya and a blast from PCA helped the Cubs reach 17 hits on the day, en rout to the win.
