Growth slowed in 2022 from the records reached in 2021, indicating that 2021 was an anomaly. Consumer spending for smartphones are other goods declined in 2022 to levels lower than expectations. Covid lockdowns and outbreaks decreased China’s domestic purchasing of consumer good and are also triggering an exit for some manufacturing from China. Trade friction has limited sales of advanced devices and the ability of China design houses to fabricated at foundries using U.S.-made tools. Substrates have
