I really like to go on vacation and on various excursions, in search of inspiration. But, unfortunately, now there are people who are not clean, they can easily “appropriate” someone else’s property: cards, money, phone, passport or even an entire handbag. When traveling on public transport, I am very worried that something might happen to my things; I have to reach into my bag or suitcase every time I have bad thoughts to make sure they are there.
There are many different types of belt bags for storing valuables, but all of them are not very beautiful, to put it mildly. And why buy when I can sew it myself?
I will sew a handbag with loops that fits on a belt.
The size should be such that a passport, money and other valuables fit there. It is better to take a tough fabric, like jeans, so that it holds its shape. For my handbag I chose three different colored fabrics.
1. I cut out a rectangle measuring 20x30 cm. I cut a strip from it, 4 cm wide.
2. I stitched strips of a different color to each part for the zipper; when finished they were 1 cm wide.
3. Stitched the zipper.
4. I inserted rectangles on both sides of the zipper.
5. I inserted the lining fabric from the wrong side so that all the seams were inside, and sewed the pocket to the lining. I stitched the zipper from the front side.
6. I cut out the pieces for the loops, 10 x 8 cm, and attached them to one side.
7. I rolled the bag upside down and stitched it on all sides.
8. I finished each side with trim.
9. She turned her purse inside out and hung it on her belt.
When you put a belt on your jeans, your purse won't go anywhere.
So, having spent a minimum of time and material, I found peace of mind.
Now I carry all the most valuable things on myself. I take it with me not only on trips, but also on walks instead of a clutch.
