Recently we were in a clothing store and really liked the blue skirt with small flowers, slightly flared, with a slit. I immediately realized that I wanted exactly this one. I tried it on and it looked like it was made for me. But one thing stopped me from buying it - fabric like rayon, non-breathable, it will definitely be hot.
And at home I have a staple that is just right for this model.
1) First, I made a base pattern on paper according to my dimensions. I drew a straight line to the dart and cut it. I closed the dart and sealed it with tape, resulting in a flared pattern.
There will be a seam with a cut along the front along the left leg. That is, the front half will consist of 2 parts. Therefore, when cutting, you must not forget about the allowances.
2) I stitched these two parts together without reaching the cut. The fabric was reinforced with non-woven fabric. I laid a finishing stitch on the front side.
3) Now I swept both parts away, tried them on myself, and corrected all the shortcomings. I always know what I will be sewing up, since I make large allowances, I am afraid that the thing will be narrow. After the third fitting, I sewed the side seams and overcast the edges.
4) The skirt will be without a belt, I will trim the waist with a facing. To do this, I took a hidden zipper. In this type of fastener, the spiral is twisted towards the braid.
5) To stitch, you need to change the foot to a zipper foot. She unzipped the zipper, unscrewed the spiral and stitched a stitch inside it. After this, the spiral will curl again and the line will be inside. I did the same with the other part of the zipper.
6) I cut out the facing details using the skirt pattern and reinforced them with non-woven fabric.
7) I stitched the facing to the skirt, bending the spiral in the area of the zipper.
This is how it turned out after turning it inside out.
8) I hemmed the skirt.
9) It turned out to be a little loose in the hips, but if desired, you can make it tighter.
There is a little fabric left, I will sew a short blouse from it with ties opposite the slit, I will soon show you what happened.
