How to use lighting to create emotions in the viewer!
At a time when most mainstream movies feel soulless, a movie like "The Quiet Girl" shows the art of cinema is alive and thriving. The movie is done beautifully from every aspect and I highly recommend you give it a watch.
In this presentation, I demonstrate techniques and lighting tricks the cinematographers used to light the environments and create emotions and sensations. My intention is that you can learn some ideas that you can apply in your own work to create pieces that people will connect to emotionally.
I also share an old forgotten memory that resurfaced in my consciousness the day after watching the movie. It's a fascinating mystery how the mind works, and how important memories can be hidden so deep in the unconsciousness until something external triggers their reappearance.
