Even though the curtains are attached to the curtain rod, they can be hung in different ways. These can be loops, hooks, rings, ties, clothespins, clips, eyelets.
I love curtain rods with rings, we have them throughout our house. There are also different types of curtain fastenings. Basically, curtain tape is attached to all curtains, regardless of the fastenings. But if it is not there, you can do without it.
Today I’ll show you an unusual way to decorate curtains, in this case it’s tulle. I will use soft loops for them.
1. The first thing to do is fold and stitch the side seams, 3 cm on each side will be enough for this.
2. Next, I measured the width of the curtain and calculated how many folds to make. I got -7 cm per fold (it can be made deeper, then the curtains will look lush), 13 cm distance between the folds. Moreover, the first fold should be from the very edge.
3. Folded the top of the curtain 10 cm and ironed it.
4. The fabric that goes for the folds (7cm) was folded and stitched to the fold. Then she smoothed it out. On the front side there are counter folds.
5. I cut strips of tulle, 5 cm wide and 25 cm long for loops.
6. I stitched them to the edge of each fold. Then I folded the tulle, as a result, everything turns out neatly on the wrong side.
7. I sewed buttons on the fold.
To hang curtains on the curtain rod, you need to thread the loop through the ring and fasten it with a button.
Another way is to tighten the loops onto the rings, then the length of the curtains will increase.
These types of fastenings are easy to sew yourself, and you’ll save on purchasing curtain tape.
