In this module, we explore the question of who was responsible for Jesus’ death, focusing in particular on (i) secular and religious aspects (ii) Jewish responsibility in John’s account (iii) extended trial before Pilate (iv) Pilate’s characterisation (v) theological and political juxtaposition 9vi) historical context.
