Tilemaps are a key design feature or 2D games of all types. In this video we look at the basics to help you get started with Tilemaps in Unity. We will set up multiple tilemap layers and add colliders so your player can interact with the layers you choose.
This video works as a standalone tutorial, but it is also part of a beginner-friendly series where we create an Action RPG in the style of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Next time we'll look at how to add more layers so you can add mountains as well as a little more visual appeal to your tilesets.
