I'm so glad I didn't throw out the old pillowcase. I'll show you what a miracle I turned her into.

Every time our relatives from the village bring me pillowcases, duvet covers, and curtains. Everything is antique, embroidered, white and linen. I like this linen, the cutwork embroidery alone is worth it. The fabric on these products is 100% cotton, you can feel it with just one touch.
Any simple fabric can be laid out, folded and decorated with stitches so that it looks like voluminous lace. It's like drawing from fabric or how a sculptor sculpts his sculptures.
Check out 4 such chic ways.
1. The fabric was drawn diagonally every 5 cm. These lines were ironed and stitched, and the width of the foot was approximately 1 cm.
Then I smoothed out these lines.
I did the same on the other diagonal, resulting in small squares at the intersections of the folds.
Additionally, I sewed on beads by hand.
The finished square is 18x18 cm.
2. On a strip of fabric 18 cm wide, I ironed lines every 4 cm.
Then I stitched them to a width of 1 cm. I cut out a square of 18x18 cm.
I pressed the folds in one direction and laid the lines.
In the middle of the fold, I unfolded it and pressed it in the opposite direction. I stitched it in the middle.
This is how the ironing post turned out.
3. For such a square, I cut out 8 small squares of 11x11 cm. I folded them diagonally and ironed them.
I stitched together 2 parts so that I got a large triangle, the equal sides of which are the diagonals of small triangles.
I folded the resulting triangles in this way and connected them with stitches. The result was a square, the sides of which were stitched, thereby connecting all the parts.
I smoothed each diagonal inside in the opposite direction.
I placed tulle under the square.
I stitched the wrapped petals along the edges.
4. Another type of fabric decoration, one might say the easiest. The square consists of 8 stripes.
Crossed with each other. There is a curly stitch on each stripe.
Using these techniques, you can take any other stitch size and distance between them.
I made a pillowcase from these squares.
Despite the brief description, such work requires precision and attention.
Every line and stitch must be drawn evenly and neatly ironed from the very beginning. The final result depends on this.
In such cases, I always use a transparent patchwork ruler, with the help of which each line is accurate and parallel to each other.
All the best!
