Pierce County Executive vetoes new homeless shelter ordinance
Within hours of the Pierce County Council approving another shelter option for the homeless, the county executive said he would not sign off on it.
This comes as there has been heated pushback from neighbors who have made it clear they do not want tent encampments or other temporary shelters in their neighborhood.
However, people who live in places like the tiny home village off 6th and Orchard told KOMO News it has been a lifesaver, and they support the proposal to get more of them.
