Lakewood shooting kills 1, injures 2 as stray bullets fly through nearby homes
Lakewood police are investigating Sunday night gunfire that killed one person and injured two others, according to a police department spokesperson.
It happened off 33rd Ave S and 82nd Street Ct E, where neighbor Marquis Johnson showed KOMO News the stray bullets that flew through his home and narrowly missed him and his dog Lala around 7:20 p.m.
Johnson claims he saw part of what happened when he looked out his window and described hearing what sounded like fireworks.
Police on Monday confirmed the shooting happened between two cars, and all the victims were in one vehicle. A detective at the scene said he collected approximately 80 bullet casings from the scene overnight.
