Seattle police arrest 15-year-old linked to Capitol Hill Safeway shooting
Seattle police arrested a 15-year-old boy who was allegedly tied to a shooting that happened in a Safeway parking lot in Capitol Hill on Aug. 11.
Thursday night, an officer patrolling the Yesler Terrace neighborhood spotted the teen and recognized him from the shooting.
Once the 15-year-old realized the police knew him, he sped away on a Lime scooter.
Police then chased the teen to an apartment complex in the 1100 block of East Fir Street.
The 15-year-old then barricaded himself in an apartment complex, and police believed he had a firearm with him.
A family member who lived at the apartments calmed the boy down and got him to surrender.
