Yesterday, I did a jam based around using water droplets as samples into eurorack modules, Today let's do something similar 'in the box'
Someone commented (thank you!) this might work work with Madrona Labs Kaivo, and I agreed... Kaivo is excellent for this.
Whats great about Kaivo, that you can load up to 4 samples, and then use these as the source for grains.
So I used 4 of the samples of water drops that I used yesterday in Kaivo for these source, then created 3 different patches that used them.
I then recorded 3 different takes using each of these patches played on the Soundplane.
The Kaivo screenshot is the first of these patches, and shows the kind of modulation that I setup when using Kaivo/Aalto with the soundplane.
The basic idea is to sent the x/y/z to many different destinations so that how you play the soundplane strongly influences the resulting sound based on your pressure, the vertial axis and also the horizontal axis.
(I quite like to use X to pan the sound subtely)
I really do enjoy hardware, but today, software is so powerful its always a joy to see what wonders a computer can create :)
Thanks for the comments and ideas, keep them coming :)
