Bach: Toccata and Fugue in D minor - Stokowski conducts
The most famous Bach Transcription of all is Leopold Stokowski's version of the Toccata and Fugue in D minor. He featured it in Walt Disney's "Fantasia" and recorded it several times over the years. It is played here in a 1954 television programme in which Stokowski conducted the BBCSO. This was its UK Premiere. Andrew Davis also conducted the work with the same orchestra many years later at the Proms and that is also uploaded here.
