How to Download IP Security Camera Footage from CameraFTP Cloud Storage
If you use CameraFTP cloud recording service, you can use a web browser or CameraFTP Viewer app to view your camera footage. You can also download your footage and play it locally.
To download a few files only, you can use a web browser. Just log in to cameraftp.com website, you will see all your cameras in My Cameras page. If other people shared cameras with you, those shared cameras will also be displayed in this page.
To download a file, just click the folder icon below your camera thumbnail. It will display subfolders and files in the camera folder. Navigate the folder tree to locate the files to download, then check the checkboxes and click Download. If you only selected one file, the file will be downloaded directly. If you selected multiple files, they will be zipped into a zip file. You can unzip it after it is downloaded.
Please note: If your camera uploads image files and if it uploads more than 1 images in one minute, then these image files will be zipped into a zip file. It is more efficient than storing many image files per minute.
If you need to download many files or folders, then it is more efficient with an FTP client program such as FileZilla. FileZilla is a free open-source FTP client program. You can download it for free.
Launch FileZilla, then connect to ftp.cameraftp.com, and log in with your CameraFTP username and password. You can see all your camera folders. You can download multiple files or folders with drag and drop.
On Windows, you can also use the CameraFTP Viewer app to download multiple files. You can install CameraFTP Viewer from Microsoft app store. Launch CameraFTP Viewer and log in, click a camera thumbnail, then click the Download icon. You can then select a time period of files to download.
Lastly, you can use DriveHQ FileManager client software to download files. You can download FileManager from DriveHQ.com website. Then, log in to FileManager. If you are not a DriveHQ member, you can log in with your CameraFTP username and password. It will create a linked DriveHQ account.
On CameraFTP.com, you can share a camera with the DriveHQ user.
Now go to the DriveHQShare folder in DriveHQ FileManager and refresh it. You will see the shared camera folder. You can copy and paste, or drag and drop cloud files or folders to a local folder.
