How to Delete Cloud Camera Folders/Files, Cancel CameraFTP Subscription, Reset Camera Admin Password
CameraFTP is a leading cloud recording, home and business monitoring service provider. If you use CameraFTP service, then your IP camera, DVR, webcam or smartphone uploads security camera footage to CameraFTP cloud. These files are stored in the cloud so that intruders cannot delete them.
You don't need to worry about the cloud storage space as long as your cameras upload based on your service plans. You don't need to delete files manually. Old footage files are automatically deleted based on the retention time. (Multiple cameras can have different recording parameters and retention times.)
If you do need to delete some files or camera folders, you can do so with a web browser, or an FTP client program.
With a browser, you can log in to CameraFTP.com and go to My Cameras page. To delete a camera folder, just click the Delete icon below the camera thumbnail. It will ask you to log in as your camera admin. For stronger protection, CameraFTP supports a second password, also called Secure Password or Camera Admin password. Your Camera Admin password is initially set to be the same as your account password. If you forgot it, you can reset it online.
Enter your camera admin password to log in as your camera admin; then click the delete icon again. It will display a confirmation dialog. If you click Ok, it will delete the camera folder.
If you only want to delete some files without deleting the camera folder, then you can click the folder icon below the camera thumbnail. Navigate the subfolders to locate the files to delete, check the checkboxes, then click Delete, (If you have not logged in as your camera admin, you will be re-directed to enter your camera admin password), and then click OK to confirm deletion of the selected files/folders.
If you need to delete many files, folders or cameras, you can use an FTP client program such as FileZilla. FileZilla is a free open-source FTP client program. You can download it for free.
Launch FileZilla, then connect to ftp.cameraftp.com, and log in with your CameraFTP username and password. You can see all your camera folders. However, you cannot delete any files or folders.
In fact, you must log in to the FTP site with your Camera Admin password. With FTP, your camera admin password must be different from your account password. After you log in with your camera admin password, you can select multiple files or folders to delete.
If you delete a camera folder, it will free up 1 camera license. You can reduce your camera licenses by canceling a subscription plan.
(You can order multiple subscription plans with different recording parameters.) To cancel a plan, just go to your Account page, click Manage Subscriptions, then click an order item to cancel.
