To do this on your laptop or computer click on the Windows icon at the bottom left corner of your screen.
Next, click on Settings.
Then, select Personalization from the menu on the left-hand side.
Scroll down and click on Taskbar.
Under the Search section, you can now choose to hide the search box, show the search icon only, or show both the search icon and label.
Since I still want to keep the search function, I'll choose Search icon only.
As you can see, the search box has now been replaced by a search icon.
