Albanese government ‘at war’ with the mining sector
Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says the Albanese government is “clearly at war” with the mining industry.
“The sector that is so important to our economy, which will be important for us to re-lift living standards in this country, is completely at odds with the government around environmental approvals,” Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia.
“It all gets kind of patronising, I think, for the sector; for the government to say how much we love, how much you’re great but then in the very next breath, stop a gold mine that could employ 800 people in western New South Wales with no reasonable explanation.
“The sector is just aghast right now at what’s going on.”
