End of Autumn - Sigma FP Warm Gold + Leica R 28
Recently I've been testing out the Sigma FP Warm Gold colour profile together with my Leica R 28mm lens and I'm loving this combination!
Autumn is coming to an end here in Australia, so I thought I would head out and film some of the colours in the leaves and capture some surrounding landscape shots. I shot all of this footage in 4K .MOV ALL-I format and only did basic colour correction and grading in Davinci Resolve. So all the beautiful colour and contrast you see is captured entirely in-camera.
The Leica R 28 does an amazing job of adding really nice contrast and colour and the in-camera 4K is surprisingly good, even though it's only compressed 8 Bit. Using false colour I was able to expose all my shots really well without blowing out highlights in the sky. The Sigma FP has very good dynamic range, which helps with exposure while shooting in high-contrast lighting during the day.
I was really blown away by how good the footage looked, this is some of the best in-camera colour profile I've seen and is comparable to Fuji Eterna and other Fuji film emulations.
While I typically film in 10 Bit or 12 Bit Cinema DNG, I can see myself using .MOV ALL-I more often just to make use of the warm gold profile. This will be great for B roll, social posts and also filming while traveling for a fast and easy workflow.
