Angela Bassett cites Tina Turner specifically when asserting that the real life strong women she has portrayed - including Rosa Parks, Betty Shabazz and Katherine Jackson - are also vulnerable.
During this 2002 phone interview with journalists for the CBS film "The Rosa Parks Story," the actress was asked if she had ever considered playing more "vulnerable" women.
