Today we'll learn how to create dual lighting effect using Adobe Photoshop in just one minute. With the image already important into Photoshop, we'll create a new gradient map and change its blending mode to color. Then, with the gradient map selected, click the gradient preview in the properties window and this window will pop up. Click on the right bottom color and change its color to a desired color of the light - in my example, I'd like it to be red. Duplicate the gradient map layer, rename it accordingly and once again change the color in the gradient map, this time, to another color, such as blue. At this point, I'll go ahead and add a contrast adjustment layer to add contrast to the image. This effect often looks better on more contrasty images. Return back to the above copy of the gradient map and click on its mask. With a big soft brush and reduced flow, paint in the areas where you'd like the bottom color to be seen through. As you can see, with a few strokes, we already got a pretty nice result. From here on, it's all about attention to details and thinking about where the left light would hit the object in real life. A good example of this is her hand, so I made sure to paint a bit of red to the sleeve and her hand. Next time you'll have boring portraits laying around, consider spicing them up with a minute of post-production.
