Week 4 Story - Path of the Splicer IV + Expunge: Styx | Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer (PS4)
A new week has arrived in Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer and with it brings new story content! Last week, we stopped the Vex Incursion in the Tangled Shore and infiltrated our first Vex Nexus in Expunge: Labyrinth. This week, Override has returned to Europa and Mithrax asks us to obtain new Vex Data in order to open another Nexus. In Expunge: Styx, a Nexus is located on the Moon along with another Oppressive Mind. Destroying the Oppressive Mind collapses the Nexus and severs another chain holding the Endless Night in place. However, despite another victory, all is not well back in the Last City. A group of two dozen disgruntled civilians infiltrate the Eliksni Quarter and vandalize it. Ikora and Mithrax are both outraged by this development. Ikora vows to track down the perpetrators and reign in Lakshmi as her incendiary rhetoric clearly incited this incident. Mithrax, on the other hand, is despondent that all of the progress made in the Eliksni camp has been undone. Lakshmi tells Mithrax that if his people are unhappy, then they should leave the City, to which he refuses. Back at the H.E.L.M., Lakshmi apologizes for her callous display to Mithrax, but ultimately tries to defend her viewpoint. However, in this moment, she inadvertently reveals something most dire. She and most of the citizens of the Last City are now infected by Savathun's Song. At any moment, Savathun can turn everyone against each other and tear the city apart from within. This is a most troubling development and only emphasizes the urgency in stopping the Endless Night more quickly.
