Whether we wanted it or not, Season 13 (a.k.a. Season of the Chosen) for Destiny 2 has arrived!
Season of the Chosen picks up immediately after the finale of Season of the Hunt and Beyond Light. While we were battling the Wrathborn of Xivu Arath, the Hive and the Darkness destroyed the Cabal homeworld of Torobatl. Empress Caiatl, daughter of Emperor Calus, has arrived in our system to strike back against both the Hive and the Black Fleet. However, humanity has thwarted the Cabal Empire's plans one too many times for Caiatl to ignore us. So, rather than make the same mistake Ghaul did, Caiatl calls for a parley between the Empire and the Vanguard. She proposes an alliance to join the vast armies of the Cabal Empire with the power of Guardians to wage a campaign to utterly destroy the Hive. However, Caiatl demands that the Last City bend the knee as part of this agreement. Zavala refuses Caiatl's offer and she begins a violent occupation of Sol. Several worlds have now become Battlegrounds for splintered Cabal factions to prove themselves to Caiatl. Meanwhile, Caiatl has deployed a gargantuan battle tank on Nessus that is slowly devouring the landscape and converting planetary material into armaments. To tackle this new threat, Zavala has appointed Lord Saladin as field commander and commissioned the construction of a new facility known as the H.E.L.M. to coordinate the war effort.
The Last City barely survived the Red War and Almighty incident. Can humanity survive this?
