Mega Man 3 Buster Only (NES) (FULL PLAYTHROUGH - No Commentary)
I have been meaning to return to the Mega Man Classic series for some time now. When I started this channel in 2017, my first series was doing Mega Man 1-10 Buster Only. When I uploaded those videos all those years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. The editing was crap and my commentary was just plain awful. Since then, I have learned a lot. I think it's time to return to this series and do it the right way. However, rather than return to the beginning, I'm going back to my favorite game of the Mega Man Classic series: Mega Man 3.
This video contains my full buster only playthrough of Mega Man 3 on NES played via the Mega Man Legacy Collection on PS4 with no commentary.
It is not possible to complete this game using only the buster. There are a few scenarios where special weapons or Rush are required to progress.
In Spark Man's Doc Robot stage, you must use Shadow Blade to progress up the first ladder.
In Needle Man's Doc Robot stage, you must use Rush Jet to cross the chasm after defeating Air Man.
In Gemini Man's Doc Robot stage, you must use Rush Marine to traverse the underwater section after defeating Flash Man.
In Dr. Wily's fortress, Rush Coil must be used in several locations to progress. Also, the final boss is immune to the buster, so Shadow Blade or Hard Knuckle must be used in Phase 1 and Top Spin or Search Snake must be used for Phase 2.
A quick note in case someone notices it. After I beat the Gemini Man Doc Robot stage, I made a colossal error and lost my progress. I was forced to use a password to get back to where I was, but my extra lives were taken away. Of course, this incident was edited out for the purposes of the video. So, if you see where my inventory is open during the Shadow Man Doc Robot stage and my lives were reset back to 2, that's why.
