Managing Software Deployment by using Packages and Programs in SCCM 2019
1. Prepare
- DC1 : Domain Controller(Yi.vn) | DC3 : Certificate server | DC4 : SCCM server | DC5 : Domain Member | WIN101 : Client
- Software : Install Firefox version 66 file(Firefox.exe - install offline version)
2. Step by step : Managing Software Deployment by using Packages and Programs on DC4
- DC5 : Add Computer acccount DC4 to Local Administrators group
+ Server Manager - Tools - Computer Management - System Tools - Local Users and Groups - Groups - Double-Click Administrators - Add... : DC4 -
- DC4 : Managing Software Deployment by using Packages and Programs
+ Create a foler and sharing named Softwares, copy Firefox.exe into it (install offline version)
+ Start - Configuration Manager Console - Administration - Site Configutation - Sites - Right-Click YI1 - Configuration Site Components - Software Distribution
- Network Access Account tab : Choose 'Specify the account that accesses network locations' - Click '*' - New Account :
+ User name - Browse... to Yi\Administrator - Entries Password and confirm - Click 'Verify' - Network share : \\DC4\sms_yi1 - Test connection
+ Administration - Client Settings - Right-Click 'Default Client Settings' - Properties - Computer Agent, set :
+ Deployment deadline greater than 24 hours, remind user every(hours) : 5
+ Deployment deadline less than 24 hours, remind user every(hours) : 3
+ Deployment deadline less than 1 hour, remind user every(minutes) : 10
+ Organization name displayed in Software Center : Yi
+ Administration - Site Configuration - Right-Click 'Servers and Site System Roles' - Create Site System Server :
+ General tab - Name - Browse... to DC5 - Site code : YI1 - Yi Site
+ System Role Selection : Select 'Distribution point' - Distribution point :Tick 'Install and configure IIS if required by Configuration Manager' - Next to Completion
+ Administration - Right-Click 'Distribution Point Groups' - Create Group :
+ Member tab - Name : DP Group01, Click 'Add...' : Tick DC4.Yi.vn + DC5.Yi.vn
+ Collections tab : Click 'Add...' : Choose 'Device Collections' - Select 'Windows 10'
+ Software Library - Application Management - Right-Click Packages - Folder - Create Folder - Folder name : Firefox - Right-Click Firefox- Create Package :
+ Package - Name : Firefox, Language : En, Version : 66 - Tick 'This package contains source files' - Browse... - Source folder : \\DC4\Softwares
+ Standard Program - Name : Firefox, Command line : Firefox.exe /verysilent /sp /nocancel /norestart /suppressmsgboxes /nolaunch --- Next to Close
+ Firefox folder - Right-Click Firefox - Distribute Content - Content Destination - Add - Distribution Point Group - Tick 'DP Group01' --- Next to Finish
+ Right-Click Firefox - Deploy :
+ General - Collection - Browse... - Choose 'Windows 10'
+ Scheduling - Tick 'schedule when this deployment will become available:' - New... - Choose 'Assign immediately after this event : As soon as possible'
+ Distribution Points - Deployment options : Download content from distribution point and run locally --- Next to Finish
- WIN101 : Check deploy Firefox
- DC4 : Wait and Check deploy Firefox
+ Monitoring - Deployments - Double-click Firefox - Check ‘Asset Details’
