World of Warcraft The Sentinax - Answers to Why and How - A Complete Guide
The Sentinax is a Legion Command Ship that parks at 9 different locations around the Broken Shore (the locations can be seen in the Bringing Home the Beacon achievement). The purpose of participating in this mass demon killing is to farm Nethershards, which can be exchanged with Warmage Kath'leen for Nethershard Essence (used to craft new profession-made Legion Legendaries), toys and tabards associated with the Armies of Legionfall achievement, and Dauntless pieces of gear (which have a base iLevel of 850). They can also be exchanged with Thaumaturge Vashreen at higher cost for Reliquished gear (which has a base iLevel of 880). All demons can drop Nethershards (though usually not many per kill). Demons that spawn under the Sentinax's location will have a slight chance to drop Sentinax Beacons, which can be used to summon even greater demons from portals. Uncommon quality beacons summon non-elite demons, while rare quality beacons summon elite enemies. The more difficult the demon, the more likely it is to drop Netherchunks (which gives you an immediate 100 Nethershards), higher quality beacons, and more Nethershards. The highest quality of beacon is known as a Portal Stone, which is of epic quality and is used to summon a demonic lieutenant. These demonic lieutenants' names can be seen on the Naxt Victim achievement. Should you obtain a Portal Stone to summon these enemies, the Portal Stone itself will also contain the lieutenant's name (so you know which one you would be summoning). Should you find and bring down one of these demonic lieutenants, they will drop an Attack Beacon. These Attack Beacons only last 15 minutes and require you to visit a variety of locations (so far I've gotten one for the Illidari Stand and the Dalaran Underbelly). The target location for these Attack Beacons can be seen on your Broken Isles and zone-level maps. Once you arrive at the location, use your Attack Beacon to summon some demons; these demons won't drop much, but a Nethershard Mass will spawn once they are dead. Right-click this Nethershard Mass to gain hundreds of Nethershards. This is the best source of high amounts of Nethershards, so always defeat demonic lieutenants if you can and follow up on the Attack Beacons that they drop.
