Welcome to week 34 of pregnancy!
This week, baby's about the size of Tickle Me Elmo doll, or a cantaloupe! Key highlights include baby’s central nervous system is completely developed, and their already formed brains are beginning to grow and from those classic wrinkles and textures we associate with the brain. The layer of vernix that kept baby moist and protected against bacteria in the womb is starting to thicken and will be absorbed into their skin soon. Roxanne also discusses the growth of baby’s razor sharp finger and toe nails, and both ladies share some of their tips for managing these baby talons! Lastly, baby’s sleep cycles are pretty much fully regulated to what it will be outside the womb.
For expectant mothers, Roxanne discusses how baby is beginning to engage more in the top of the pelvis and you may feel this increased pressure in certain positions. You also may be experiencing a big increase in fatigue as you near your due date. And lastly, it is common to start experiencing some swelling of the hands, feet, and face at this time and Roxanne shares some ways to combat this discomfort.
Additionally, Gina shares about her struggles with insomnia, how she is staying active in the intense summer heat, the addition of lymphatic drainage tools, and and uptick in self care.
